Date day

Today was a wonderful day.
A day that doesn't happen very often due to busy schedules, grocery trips or just because.
It was date day.

Tyler, Jake and I left the house and headed down into Birmingham to spend the day walking around, shopping and eating. Days like today renew my love for the man I call my best friend. It is so special to dedicate a whole day to each other without being on the phone, sucked into tv-land or any other technological gadget.

It's about him.
It's about me.
It's about our family.

Family Vacation

To celebrate Tyler's graduation from medical school we decided to go on a vacation as a family. His only stipulation was that we get a house on the beach so we have direct access to the water. BEST. IDEA. EVER!

Tyler's parents, Trey (his brother), Emily (Trey's wife), their little girl Maddie joined us on this vacation. It was short, sweet and exactly what this family needed. Trey and Emily live in Memphis (which is four hours away from us) and we don't get to see them as much as we like to. We tanned, shopped, played frisbee, got family pictures taken and ate soooo much seafood. This trip brought us closer together than we have been in the past and really energized our love for each other.
